Robert is a three-time entrepreneur with multiple Inc 500|5000 awards, North Carolina Fast 50 awards and many others. But what he’s most proud of is winning the #1 spot on The Charlotte Business Journal’s Best Places to Work Award. Robert believes great cultures drive great businesses and he has devoted his life to help others achieve the cultures and businesses they want.
Robert bootstrapped his first IT company while still in college and later sold to his partner in 2000. At the same time, he became one of the founding members of the Charlotte Entrepreneurs’ Organization where he later served as chapter president. Robert went on to co-found payment processing leader Avidxchange in 2000 and the company has grown to over 1,200 employees. In 2003, he co-founded one of the top ranked search firms in Charlotte named Integra Staffing and Search and exited the business in 2013. Since 2013, Robert has been 100% committed to taking everything he’s learned in creating winning teams and helping entrepreneurial leaders get what they want from their business.
His story also in includes becoming the oldest person in North America at age 40 to turn pro in the sport of mountain biking. This journey includes navigating life changing injuries and writing a book called The BreakAway Move which shares Robert’s unique story and ties it back to timeless business principles and winning strategy. Robert now uses the mountain bike to cross train for off-road enduro style motorcycle racing.
Robert lives with his wife Steph and their four children in Charlotte, NC.
