I grew up in an entrepreneurial family, and when I was ready to join my family business, I found out we had a rule that required me to first work elsewhere. As a result, I figured there was no better place to learn than the world’s largest company, Walmart. I went through their management training program and helped manage 11 different stores while learning from the inside how to operate a truly great company. 15 years ago, I was called in to join my family business, and was able to use that knowledge and experience to help better serve both retailers and direct consumers. While I grew our International/Ecommerce business by over 25X, and led overall Sales growth by over 30%, at times I felt frustrated that there wasn’t a clear vision or proper accountability. That’s when I discovered EOS and helped implement it into my company. EOS helped us clearly identify our issues and what necessary changes were needed to be made. As a result, about 5 years after implementing EOS, I was able to successfully exit that business.
