Three Techniques To Boost The Power Of Your Vision Statement

Creating a strong vision statement comes down to clarity and accountability. Leaders who can craft their vision into direct, clear, and actionable statements pull off good vision statements and have a better chance of leading the company in its intended direction.

1. A good vision statement involves alignment.

The process of developing a vision statement shouldn’t be purely democratic. preceding sentence: Every stakeholder should have a voice, but not every stakeholder should have a vote. Ask employees to share what’s important to them about the business. What do they want the organization to achieve?

2. Your vision statement creation process should include eight points.

A strong vision statement should include these eight key parts: core values, a Core Focus™, a Core Target™, a marketing strategy, a 3-Year Picture™, a 1-year plan, Rocks, and an Issues List.

3. The final vision statement should be sticky – but not actually final at all.

Businesses must adapt to change. Since change is inevitable, your vision should adjust as you do, so don’t set it in stone. Be transparent about how and why your vision changed to help your people pivot and make your vision a reality.
