Grow your capacity by growing your team. Host Sue Hawkes speaks with Jennifer Ruelens, Visionary for One Focus Property Management, Dawn Kane, CEO of Hot Dish Advertising, and Jenna Spencer, founder and Visionary at AssistPro about how to get the right people in the right seats in your business.

“In my experience when you hit a ceiling, you’re behind… I find that that’s really a difficult time to start carving out more time for the personal development work that you need to be doing.” — Jennifer [00:47]

Dawn shares that the underlying problem that causes leaders to hit that glass ceiling is not having the right people around them. Dawn emphasizes that before making any hires, Visionaries must:

  • Define their core values.
  • Set growth goals with their leadership team.
  • Decide what types of people they need to reach those goals.

Jenna adds that when you do hire the right people for the right seats, new energy surges through your team and company.

“[Hiring the right people] opens our capacity and it creates horsepower for the engine of the business. When you have the right people, they get the vision, they’re excited to be on the team, and it creates more energy for the company and the team.” — Jenna [11:54]

Hitting a ceiling in your personal development is normal but it does require you take decisive action. Take some space to grow your team and you’ll discover more room for your own growth in the process.
