Systemize; don’t bureaucratize. Host Sue Hawkes speaks with Bryan Glutting, CEO of BRY Enterprises; Kris Lindahl, CEO at Kris Lindahl Real Estate; and Mike Paton, speaker, author, EOS Implementer® and former Visionary at EOS Worldwide, about why it’s essential to use processes to create consistency and scale.
Kris emphasizes that processes are not boring. They’re absolutely necessary to start and grow a business. They get businesses better results. And it all starts with asking what are the most critical parts of a business that must be done right?
Paton adds that it’s about getting started: finding a minimally viable solution that’s simple enough for people to understand and own. The coaching and mentoring in the particulars can come later.
“What you’re doing when you’re building an entrepreneurial company is you’re changing the wheels on a moving train… And when you look around for the maintenance team to do that for you, there is no maintenance team. And so you need to be prepared for that part of the journey too.” — Paton [16:33]
Build processes one at a time, see the impact, and let the momentum carry you. Processes may not take away all the chaos but they help you manage it more effectively.
