Gautam Ijoor, president and CEO of Alpha Omega, shares the journey that led his company to be named Inc. 5000 six years in a row.
Gautam’s unexpected entrepreneurial journey started as a teen in India when he ran a nightclub for two years without his parents’ knowledge. He then transitioned from India to the US and built a thriving company with core values at its heart.
[12:05] “Entrepreneurs often ask me how core values lead to winning more business. And it almost blows my mind because you cannot define your team without first understanding what values are important for your business.”
Through his ventures and setbacks, Gautam learned the importance of strategic planning, embracing failure as a learning opportunity, and prioritizing work-life harmony.
René Boer, EOS Implementer® with 17 years of experience, adds his reflections on Gautam’s leadership qualities and the impact of using EOS® to drive accountability, highlighting the essence of purpose-driven entrepreneurship.
[09:05] “The minute I put together an accountability chart, I realized where my problem lied. It wasn’t with the business, the environment, the customers, or the people. It was primarily with myself as a leader.”
Gautam’s story serves as a profound reminder that setbacks can fuel growth, and this episode offers entrepreneurs a wealth of practical guidance for achieving work-life harmony and the pivotal role of core values in driving business success.
