In the past, I sat in the seat and understand the job of leading an entrepreneurial business. I’ve led or helped lead five entrepreneurial businesses including serving as CEO/President of three financial services firms. I’ve served in various executive positions and as president of Townsend Agency, a technology marketing firm in San Diego. While there, I led strategic engagements for entrepreneurial biotech clients, including Merck Bioscience, Dow Pharma, Accelrys, Gen-Probe, Diversa, Agilent, Applied Molecular Evolution, and a host of early-stage pharma, device, diagnostics, and instrumentation companies. I led strategic engagements for entrepreneurial technology clients including Toshiba, QUALCOMM, Intel, BAE Systems and ARM, and many early-stage wireless, semiconductor, and software companies. I’m currently an active angel investor with several successful exits and serve on the board or advisory board of several portfolio companies.
