YOUR LEADERSHIP TEAM’S PRISON
It’s a prison of the mind, a trap, and the leadership team members of every client I have worked with were sitting in that trap when we started working together.
They were spending all of their time and energy working IN their business, to the neglect of working ON their business. They believed they had no choice…they thought they were out of bandwidth.
When I started working with them, they were good at the work they were doing IN their business: making the sale, delivering the service, making the products, or providing internal support.
Then they got stuck or were overwhelmed by the day-to-day or an unfortunate event. It happens a lot.
Happily, almost all of my teams have pulled themselves out of the trap.
But it didn’t “just happen.”
It took commitment and pre-planned time together as a focused and disciplined team to get out of the trap. Some of their issues were potentially fatal to their company! But they eventually “got it.” It took a concerted, focused, team effort to tackle them, which, of course, is exactly what the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS®) is designed to do.
THAT OTHER TRAP
A related trap is when your leadership team members feel like they “don’t have the time to do this,” meaning, implementing EOS into your business. A lot of teams feel that way at the start. IRONY ALERT! They feel that way because they spend no time working ON their business.
NONE, I repeat, NONE of my teams complain about the time they invest toward working ON their business once they are running on EOS, usually in ~75 days.
If you are going to get what you want out of your business, you and your leadership team will have to make both the mental and time commitments to work ON your business, not just IN it.
